Introduction

Adria Airways is the Slovenian national airline that operates scheduled and charter flights throughout Europe with a fleet of A320s, A319s, CRJ200s and the CRJ900. Some of the destinations frequented by Adria are Moscow, Podgorica, Frankfurt, Skopje, Sharm El Sheikh and Athens which are all featured in this program. This program features many interesting highlights and it is guaranteed to keep you entertained.

Highlights

This program starts off with a presentation by the director of passenger relations as he provides some interesting details on the history and services of the airline. Up until now, I had never heard of Adria Airways and thanks to this presentation, you will also be able to learn about the history of this airline which goes back to 1961. The services provided by this airline have not gone unnoticed. Adria has won many awards for their top-notch service and this program surely captures the best of Adria.

Our first flight takes us on a round-trip from Ljubljana to Moscow onboard the A319. After a short flight briefing by the Captain, we join the flight crew in the cockpit as they make final preparations for departure. The first leg of the trip was flown by the F.O and the Captain flew the return flight. There were many highlights of this trip which included departure and arrival briefings, a short cockpit presentation, a look at the inflight cabin service and most outstandingly, the near zero visibility landing back at Ljubljana which was a definite highlight of this program.

The next series of flights takes us onboard the CRJ-200 and the CRJ-900 to destinations such as Podgorica, Frankfurt, Skopje, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Athens. Highlights of these flights included amazing views on takeoff and landing, walk-around inspections, cockpit presentations, departure and approach briefings and some of the most amazing scenic views from the cockpit while flying over Egypt. Some of my favorite moments in this program were the landings in LJU with near zero visibility both in the daytime and at night while returning from Athens. These were some of the tensest IFR moments filmed by Just Planes in a long time and these moments are not to be missed. While this program doesn’t dive deep into specifics of each aircraft, following the pilots on their day-to-day duties was very enlightening. The stunning views from the cockpit were another significant highlight that makes this program quite appealing. If you are a fan of the CRJ or the A319, then this program may be worth your consideration.
