HIGHLIGHTS

I’ve always been a fan of cargo flying and this program quickly captured my attention when it was first announced prior to its release. In this program we are given the privilege of flying with 2 flight crews as they take valuable cargo to destinations such was Marseille, Athens and Larnaca from their home base of Liege. While all cargo programs isn’t uncommon among the Just Planes program line up, what makes this program special is the fact that we will be flying onboard the 737-300 & 400 Freighter which is operated by a globally recognized logistics company.

Our first flight from Liege to Marseille features numerous highlights that are seen throughout this program. We start off with our flight crew at the airport as they review their extensive paperwork briefing that covers flight planning, weather and weight and balance. As one would imagine, flying an all-cargo aircraft is slightly different to flying passengers and it is important that the flight crew plans their flights thoroughly while taking into account the proper loading of the aircraft and fuel requirements. After the review of the dispatch was completed, the flight crew makes their way to the aircraft where an informative exterior walkaround is conducted. After all the doors are secured and clearance was received, we departed into the dark skies on our first trip to France. While flying at night isn’t always very exciting, the cockpit lighting and interacting with the crew made these segments of our flights very entertaining. In addition to this, the camera angles also helped in creating unique perspectives of both inside and outside of the cockpit. From inside the cockpit, the viewers have a clear view of the pilots as they perform their roles and PF and PNF. From outside the cockpit, the stunning city view at night was stunning to say the least and it truly brought new meaning to the thrill of flying at night.

Other highlights of this program featured presentations on cargo loading, performance calculations, departure and approach briefings and a brief but interesting cockpit presentation. In the end, this program delivers nearly 4 hours of nonstop entertainment that all aviation enthusiasts will enjoy. TNT Airways is showcased as an airline that has both a professional and a fun environment to work in. If you are a fan of cargo flying or interested in the 737 freighter series, this program is definitely for you! This is perhaps one of the best programs released by Just Planes and I would highly recommend it.  We certainly offer thanks to Just Planes and TNT for showing the world that flying cargo is just as rewarding as flying passengers.
